Being the excellent procrastinator I am, I watched so much crappy TV today, I cannot possibly remember it all. First up was Hollywood Crime Scenes. Now, call me ignorant, but I didn't know Marilyn Monroe was in Playboy. Thomas Noguchi, a corpse examinator was in both the John Belushi story I watched and the Monore one. They must have just asked him all the celebrities he inspected, and went down the list.

I then watched the tail end of Foreign Flo on the BPM. I saw the last half of a video, and the first half of another, because I was trying to work on my homework for the last half of the second one. The second one was pretty trance like, so I stopped watching, since it didn't catch my interest/I had homework. I kind of regret not watching the last half of it though...I do like trance music... (It was Diablo by The Grid...if anyone knows them...) The first one was pretty interesting though. There was a horse going through this guy's room. I cannot remember what it was called though. I wonder if they play Japanese PVs...?

Then, on MTV they had Electronic Playground. It was amusing that they had this English guy interviewing the Japanese speaking producer of Contra, and no translator present. I guess the producer knew English, but couldn't speak it. They dubbed over his voice, and I hate it when they do that. Jesus, people CAN read, y'know. An amusing bit of dialogue
Interviewer - So, in Neo Contra, there was this Ninja guy I saw running around...(asks question)
Producer - (answers question) and actually, it's a Samurai.
Ha, I laughed. The interviewer also did really stupid shit, like running on the spot when saying running. It certainly wasn't an interview you see everyday. I also saw a preview for Mario Tennis, and it looks like it takes some time to learn how to play. But I think once you play it, you get it. Another dialogue clippit of interest (when they were talking about a crappy looking game called Battlefield 2):
Interviewer - So, Battlefield 2 is actually the third in the series, the first being Battlefield, and the second being Battlefield Vietnam. Why isn't this Battlefield 3?
Producer Guy - It's a sequel to Battlefield.
Interviewer - Okay...(asks another question)
I found it amusing how he barely answered her question. And how he can't count. I mean, I get it, but it's kind of stupid. He should have just made it Battlefield 3.

I poked around my computer for a bit, but I had to watch Arrested Development. I think I missed the beginning. Since I missed the beginning, I wasn't really sure what was going on with Maibe. The whole thing with Tobias is pretty funny though. I like how he's always doing gau stuff, but he doesn't realize it.

My gosh, I hope to never watch this much boring TV again. >_

I was working (on homework!) most of today. Being the good worker that I was, I decide to treat myself to some Beck
5-6. I really thought I was farther along, but I guess I'm not. Also, I
haven't watched this show for awhile, so I was lost. I forgot nearly
everything that had happened up until this point! But I would remember
things as the show went along. But something I completely forgot was
that Ryusuke told Koyuki he wasn't his friend any longer. So when
Koyuki said 'I'm not Ryusuke's friend anymore' I was like 'Whaaaaat?"
In any case, these were two excellent episodes. The 'Full Moon Sway'
scene in episode 5 is one of the most beautiful scenes I've seen in
awhile. Maybe Koyuki's voice was a tad overpowering, but really, I
thought it was just a sexy-cool-awesome-beautiful scene. I CANNOT WAIT
for the Beck OST to come out. If it already is out, then someone tell
me where to download. I don't have a job anymore. I can't buy it!  Oh,
I'm also liking/hating Momoko-sensei. She's gonna be one of those
annoying charcters, who in real life you would avoid, but for now she's
pretty funny. I don't know if she's using her sex appeal on purpose or
not though. :/

I watched the last of the Genshiken episodes I have, episode 8. Today Tanaka was running a 'Gungal' (Gundam) Plamo (short for Plastic Model) workshop. There were a lot of Gundam in-jokes, and I don't follow Gundam, so I felt a little lost, even with the handy translator's note. This one was pretty funny. I think I laughed twice, first when Tanaka was explaining the difference between Toys and Plamos, and again when a 'foreign object' got on Sasahara's Jimmy (the name of the plamo he was building, not anything else!). It was also pretty funny when I think it was Madarame who said 'Ohno's tears represent the seven stages of Plamo building!' when Saki broke Kanako's Plamo. Saki is hanging out with the Genshiken crew even when her boyfriend isn't there. Her boyfriend is a cutie though. What was his name again? I'm having a serious memory lapse... Oh, and I read on animesuki that Genshiken was going to be 24 episodes, with three of them being Kujiban episodes, but today on animenfo, it said there would only be 12! Nande! I want to know what's going on! I was under the impression that episode 3 was going to be Kujiban!

I also watched the Apprentice again with my mother on the tape I taped for her. The tape had an annoying buzz in the background, but what could I do about it. It was actually really annoying to listen to, and I ended up zoning out a lot of the time. However, I just can't get over that hippie's marketing plan. Like my sister said, if I saw him in front of MY Burger King, I'd turn around and go across the street to another one.

Not directly related to viewing, but I finished another chapter of My Partner. Bonzai! I haven't uploaded it yet though...this chapter is really straight, and I'm almost proud of myself for having it turn out that way. I find it insanely funny for me writing as a straight man in first person.

'I have a yearning for pussy right now'

Is one of the many straight man-isms I had to type. At least he's acting straight now though. There's gonna be some real conflict soon~. (getting excited thinking about it)

Still in a depression, I stayed home today. I played DDR for two hours. I’m getting okay at standard mode, and my legs feel pretty strong. I like the two/three Naoki songs I unlocked (B4U (B4 Za Beat Mix) being challenge only, so I can't do it...well, not any higher than an E that is -_-;; ). 'Can't Stop Fallin' In Love (Speed Mix)' burns at least 15 calories each time I play it on light mode, so I love it. It's in my 'Players Best' on Non-stop mode, but Non-stop automatically has it on standard, and I can't do it standard mode well. Oh, I did a lot of Non-stop runs. I like it on Workout mode, because if your bar starts flashing red, then it doesn't matter because it still lets you finish. It's almost like cheating, because in your information box, you're still sent a 'Congratulations on completing Players Best non-stop course', even though I got an E. Oh, setting it on workout mode also lets you complete normal songs, even if you fail miserably.

Even though I cannot remember doing it today, I must've watched Genshiken 7 either today or yesterday, because I know that two new members came, and they had a drinking party. One of the new members was a 'ladies man', and the other was a hyper fanboy, who had the worst character design ever. He stuck out like a parrot feather on a seagull. I didn't realize it at the time, but Kujiki (or whatever the hyper fanboy's was) was voiced by Akira Ishida (Chrno from Chrno Crusade), so I got to hear a drunk Chrno sing 'Kujibiki Unbalance'. And that was the highlight of the episode for me. I started laughing psychotically when Kujiki was in the Genshiken room, and he said 'Poo-nyo'. That was too much. I used to talk like that, and just...'Poo-nyo'. Classic.

The Apprentice 3 started, and I love the Apprentice, so my mother wanted me to tape it for her. SO, I used that excuse to watch it too. They were working at Burger king (Pain of losing Mcdonalds job stabs heart) I-I used to work at a hamburger restaurant...you can imagine my feelings, ne? I was kinda working though, so I was mostly listening. A ha.

I got fired today. Being in a depression, I watched American Idol twice. The first time, I missed the first 10 minutes, the second time I saw it all. I can remember this one well. Those triplets needed to be told they were fat. If you don't got it, don't flaunt it. No one wants to see your flab in skintight spandex, honey. I don't know what to think of that short Mickey Mouse girl. I liked her entering rap, but her actual audition song was blah. And those two friends were hi-lar-i-ous. Mother was laughing when he said that David Hasslehoff was a good singer. I don't know David Hasslehoff at all, but Mother told me that David Hasslehoff is a TERRIBLE singer. I would believe it ^^;;. And that guy who's family thought he sounded like Brian Mcknight was funny too. If Brian Mcknight sounds like that, then...I'm never listening to Brian Mcknight. Oh, and Gene Simmons is guest judging next week. Make that Richard Simmons, and we'd have a show.

Well, still being in a depression, I played DDR Extreme. I love that game. Lots of fun. I did lots of missions. I suck at the higher numbers though.

I watched Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsuna Koto (Someday's Dreamers/The Things Important to a Mage/Yume-Mahou) 9. It made me upset that Yume was an apprentice mage, and I'm a fired McDonalds employee. It was a good episode though. We're approaching the end, aren't we? I like how the crew has done a good job of stretching this 2-volume manga into a 12 episode series. Although, it is possible the manga came second, as in my scanlations (OF WHICH I AM MISSING THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS (That are listed as epilogue chapters, but really tell the ending of the story!) BLARGH! I want to know how it ends!) there are character designs for the anime. Oh well, I like most of the interpretations of the anime version (except in episode four where they added in that girl, where in the manga it was just the two boys. Than wasn't necessary, unless she was the girl in episode five who needed help...? I can't remember if they were same girl ^^;; ) This is an excellent show in every respect however.

So, to watch a show where NOBODY is employed, I turned on Genshiken 6. Saki played Puyo Puyo! I never have, so I'm jealous. Sasahara's Gal sister showed up, and like Madarame said 'I can't believe you two grew up in the same house'. I can't remember if it's this episode or the next where Madarame gets named Genshiken chairman (Like I said, I was in a depression). Either way, he shows a 180-degree difference in personality when he gets named chairman. He actually tries to act nice towards Saki, and (tries to) include her in things! This was a pretty nice episode actually, if it was not the most memorable. I can't really remember when I laughed uncontrollably though. Oh well. Next time.

I think I was doing something else while I was watching it because it was so dull. Well, I was actually just sitting there and watching it, but I was thinking of other stuff in the back of my mind.

Ebert and Roeper had their Worst Movies of the year list today. Ebert had a tie with 'Troy' and 'Alexander', and Roeper picked 'White Chicks'. I don't like epics either, but Ebert does have movies from this year with lower stars. Yeah, I'm just defending Alexander because of the gay sex -_-+. Leave me alone.

At the recommendation of my father (that's right, my father) I checked out Air 1. Honestly, I didn't think this was going to be anything special. The ads looked kind of overly sentimental, and all I thought of it was how interesting that it had a movie coming out with it. So, I watched an episode, with only my father's recommendation to go on, and some very basic info I read. I was very pleased to find the original game OP/ED by Lia were left in. I liked the main character guy, because it's true when someone said that he wasn't your typical H game hero. He had a personality. But about the show, it started off oddly. A girl who makes dinosaur noises came down from the sky on angel wings, and took the main character to her house, where he drunk with her mother. Yeah, I know it sounds odd putting it in a sentence like that. The next day, he went around town and met a bunch of other girls and they were all also crazy in their own right. Roll credits. But, I'm just giving the quick story overview. This was a masterpiece compared to the flaming disaster of Peach Girl. And in the grand scheme of things, this was pretty good. I can't remember a single characters name, but it was pretty good. I can see something tragic happening with the main girl, because she has no sense of the real world. Anyway, I'd be more than happy to watch another episode. This was awesome.

Now, my favourite of the three episode 1's I watched was this - Negima 1. Now, technically, Air was 'better' in terms of everything - Animation, Story, Characters, Potential - yet this had one thing Air did not - the flashing of a yaoi manga across the screen! Haruna, I have engraved your name into my memory, beucase you had yaoi! Haruna is my favourite charcter (no kidding). She part of the librarian club. She has yaoi, so we love her. Now, backing up a bit, about two years, when I first heard of the 'mysterious announcement' made by Ken Akamatsu that he was creating a manga with 30 heroines, I was astounded. I didn't know if he could pull it off. Then I read Love Hina, and I was sure he could do it. I never got around to checking out the manga however, because well, Del Ray edited it, and my scanlations were shit quality. But, I checked out the anime because the label 'Real episode one' intrigued me. Was someone hawking faux Negima 1's? I dunno. But, back to the episode. The opening was not leaving me optimistic. There are about 30 girls in Negima, each one a familiar stereotype (there even appears to be an android...). The opening consisted of the each taking their turn in a bathing suit and bouncing a beach ball. Then they each took a turn kissing their ten-year-old teacher. Whoopie. That has got to be one of the cruddiest openings in recent memory. But the episode itself was a lot of fun. The main girl (who's name I cannot remember) acts a lot like Naru, but less violent...well, not by much (Visually, She's also a dead ringer for Naru, even if she is differently coloured and has her hair in pigtails.). I like how there are no actual pantie shots in the episode, but just the hint of them (by flashing a bear across the screen, signifying bear panties). On that note, the animation isn't too much to look at, with many pans across the classroom with nobody moving. But then, who cares? This was just too much fun to resist. All the heroines, although there are thirty of them, are all full of energy, be they in the episode for a minute or less, or have a more major role. I REALLY liked the way Negi (main male protagonist) was portrayed. At first I thought he was a pretty mature guy. Then he took the attendance book, and wrote 'meanie' across the Naru-girl's face. That just showed to me that he was a typical ten-year-old. I'm looking greatly forward to more of this. We need an episode where Haruna goes to a yaoi store or something. That would be golden. To quote John "Men will like this for all the women, and women with Shouta complexs will love this too." Ha, shouta complex me? No, no way... (Hides discriminating evidence proving otherwise... although I am 16, so it's okay for me to like say... 13 year olds. 10 IS a little young though...)

And on that note, dear fansubbers, we do not need anyone else subbing these two series, or O!MG for that matter. Yes, they are popular. Yes, your IRC channel will be packed. But you know what's more rewarding, and will earn you greater respect, and probably result in a long lasting group that won't break-up after the series chosen is over? Subbing the rest of Sensei no Ojikan for me. Kudo X Suetake forever baby~...I mean earn the respect of the fansubbing community! Pick up where Seichi left off! Yeeeah! ^^;;

Outside of anime, I watched Arrested Development too. It is funny as hell. Michael seems to be getting a stroke of luck, with Joe going to the other company, but we all know that's not going to last. I think joe may have rejoined the company at the end though. Is this the second or third season? Well, it's still going strong. I was a little nervous when the army officer asked Lucille to go 'downtown' and leaned back in his chair. I was watching it with my father, so I was very relived when Lucille broke out into the song 'Downtown', and old showtune of sorts. Still, very funny stuff.

And, since it was on, I watched the return of Family Guy on Fox. It was the episode where the Griffins are on a 24/7 TV station (I've seen it before). It was edited from the version on Teletoon. When Meg is at the African-American neighbour's house, he and his wife have sex while making REALLY nasty noises. It seemed a little inconsistent that one minute she was at that guy's house, and the next Meg scene she was at Quagmire's. Even so, I'm hoping this is the start of a Family Guy comeback, with new episodes. Please? (Sees site) SWEEEEET! Un-cancelled! New Family guy! Yeeees!

Being at my father's house, the Internet downloads at a high speed. So, I had the pleasure of checking out some new anime. Now, I was SO pumped when I found out about the Peach Girl anime production. I visted the site. and the images were pretty reminiscent of Miwa Ueda's artwork, so I was thrilled. So, the opening sequence (sung by Megrock, a.k.a. Gumi, the singer of the first OP of CCS ^_~) was pretty nice. There were several images directly copied from Miwa Ueda's art, and drawn in anime style, they looked lovely. THEN I SAW THE MEN MOVING. Oh, my heart died a little inside. Toji looks like and old man, and Kiley looks like an ugly man. Okay, I admit, I nearly fainted when Kiley winked at Momo. Even if he was an ugly Kiley, he was Kiley, one of the sexiest men to ever grace manga pages. Not so much the TV screen though. Kiley winking was the highlight of the show. Aside from the butt-ugly male character designs, the seiyuu sucked. (Momo sounds too calm/not Momo-ish at all! And everyone else just squeaks by with horrendously forgettable/out of character performances.) And the pacing of the show was just horrendous. Reading the manga, you can determine how well the story paces itself. But the TV production just seemed to be balsting in whatever they could in 25 minutes. I thought they were going to get through the whole first volume (but they didn't)! So, the end result feels like a half-assed attempt at a wonderful manga. I was kind of upset that the Taiwanese live-action version wasn't very true to the original, but it was a helluva a lot better than this anime, which seems to be acting as an empty shell for the original manga. Not one single different thing was done differently. Even the anime-style images of Miwa Ueda's original artwork seemed lifeless, just trying to imitate the successful manga. My god, this was so blazingly awful. I think I'll only watch episodes once they get past volume two of the manga, because I haven't read volume three yet.

Needing something that guaranteed goodness, I watched Kannaduki no Miko 4. Himeko went on a date, and it was painful to watch Chikane send her off happily. My goddess, Chikane is really becoming one of my favourite anime characters. It ended with a cliff hanger, so I need more.

This episode seemed like complete filler to me, except for that last three minute when those two broke up. Man, they just wanted to not have any gay couples anymore. Shit, I want more QAF.

We always watch clips in every Media Studies class I have (at least during this movie unit), but today was noteworthy. We watched a clip from Spirted Away (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi). Sensei had asked me to bring it in earlier, but we didn't watch it. Someone else brought it in, and we watched the clip where Chihiro is reminiscing about her parents and takes a bite of the medicine that cures Haku. That clip ended, and after it was when No Face eats the frogman and offers him lots of gold if he wakes everyone up and gives him a bath. We cut it off where everyone is begging him to take his or her food. Where to start...there were SO MANY RUDE COMMENTS! 'Is this a Japanese Cartoon?' 'This is stupid' 'What the fuck is this shit?' Arrrg! This is (one of) the best movie ever, and these fucking children in my class are being hicks about it! Arrrg! Now, I expected as much, seeing where I live (The hillbilly capital of the world. I've only recently emigrated here. It hasn't gotten me...yet.), so the other thing I have to bitch about is the dub. The evil dub. Okay, I first watched Spirted Away dubbed at the theatre. I didn't have a choice. But when I got it on DVD, after watching it dubbed again with my illiterate (little) sisters, I had the pleasure of hearing the original language track. I felt the dub and the sub were two complete different movies. The dub was more reminiscent of and action/adventure story, whereas the sub was a shoujo/more sentimental story. For example, at the end, when Chihiro looks back at the tunnel for a final time, I was thinking two completely different things at that time:
Dub - "And she'll never forget her friends she made..."
Sub - "She has to leave them because she's a grown woman now..."
See what I mean. Both movies had completely different messages. You can't trust dubs, kids. From that moment, I vowed I would never trust Disney again, and NEVER watch the dub. Well, today I was reminded of why I made that vow. Now, this part sounds psychotic, but I WAS WEEPING INSIDE WHENEVER CHIHIRO SPOKE. Oh my God, I wanted to go through the screen and rip that little girl's voice box out. Or at least give her a good talking to about ruining art. Whichever. I completely understand why some Japanese people were suing Disney for poor treatment of their beloved movie.

Against my better judgment, I watched Maury again today. Today was 'I used to be a dork, but now I'm a stripper!' day. It was a piece of cheese. Trash TV is like a drug, I swear it. It is insane how much I depend on watching it. It really lets you turn your brain off.

To celebrate getting a computer in my room, I watched Genshiken 5 on the said computer. This is a very funny anime. There are not a lot of small quick jokes, but rather the building of a situation that gets more and more hilarious. Every episode so far, I think I've laughed about half way through really, really hard, because there was just a final joke that broke the camels back, if you will. In this episode, I think it was when...I can't remember when ^^;;. I'll make a mental note to remember for my next episode. I did like 'Otaple' however. Makes me want a boyfriend so I can run around yelling 'we're otaple'!

Maury was trashy today, trashy even for Maury. It was 'Hidden Cameras are Everywhere Naked Women Are!' day, or something like that. I watched the last half. I've watched Maury's like that before, but this one was baaaad. Every reenactment they had, there was a sexy lady taking off her top. In the reencatments, even if the guest wasn't sexy, their replacement was (40 year old mom = 20 year old hot girl). Usually, they just suggest stripping, but this time there were sexy ladies taking off their tops right in front of the camera. Their breasts were censored, of course, but still. It was so exploitative. I always like to laugh at the prostitute catcher guy though. He's hilarious, because he has no life whatsoever, and shows pretty ridiculaous clips of people getting in on in really funny places. (Man picks woman off the church steps, gets a 'quickie', drops her back off...although that may not have been the prostitute guy >_<.). It was also funny when they ahd the 'warning signs that you landlord is spying on you', beucase there were no actual tips, and a lot fo naked woman...even a woman and a man in the forepalying stages of sex! Some 13 year old boys were happy when they saw that...because of this show, I'm never wearing a skirt in a convience store, or if I do, I'm being very careful.

The finale of The Biggest Loser was on tonight. I watched most all of that. Ryan won, big surprise (sarcasm). NBC is having a reunion show where one of the previously kicked out former fat-asses will win $10 000. I shouldn't be surprised this is dragging out for another week, but I am. I have to stop watching this shit. But I only have one more episode...and who will win? Whose lost the most weight...Maurice? I have to watch. Curse reality TV.

After that was the last half of The Amazing Race. I was working on my poster for school, but I was still listening. It was a non-elimination leg. Shit, this season sucks, but I just want to keep watching till that bloody sexist bastard and his wife get kicked out.

After, my mother turned to a movie called Indecent Proposal. Demi Moore and her husband in the movie had sex almost the entire half-hour I was writing my letter to grandma. No wonder my mother liked it. The movie was part of a 'Passion Week' the station was running, so I'll have to make a note not to watch any movies on Toronto One this week...

They had their choices of what they thought should be the Oscar winners, and Ebert said that 'Spiderman 2' should be best picture. Yeah, it was good - for an American super hero movie. To all other movies, it wasn't outstanding. I have to agree with Roeper when he sarcastically said 'Now, I thought you were going to pick 'Van Helsing!''
I finally watched my first anime of the New Year. It was one I didn't download in time before it got licensed, and that was a year ago. It was Wandaba Style Episode 1. It was just as I expected it to be. Cute girls, thin plot, fan service, and all proudly brought to you by ADV. And guess what? I loved it. Well, I had wanted to see it for awhile, so I guess I had in my head that I would like it. But seriously, Mix Juice is going to be one helluva messed idol unit (With a mix of Enka, Folk, Lolita and Rock music). Or, at least it SHOULD be. The opening theme by Mix Juice sounds like your forgettable anime theme music. (sigh) oh well, I'll still download the DVD rips of this when they come out.

The other episode on the NT USA preview disc was Kaliedostar 29. Now, I love Kaleidostar, but I was only on episode 13 or something like that. Not wanting to color my Macbeth Storybook, I watched it. Sora's a kaleidostar now! And Fool does constellation watching instead of tarot reading now! My cast is growing up ^.^. I liked the new opening song, although I already knew I liked it but it was nice to see the animation with it. I also liked the way ADV put it's opening credits. They looked very naturally placed, unlike Wandaba Style. Commenting on the actual episode, I really dislike that Leon guy. Where's uke-y Yuri when you need him? And Layla left! Oh my god, even though it was just in a flashback, I was just about crying. I know Layla was the 'rival' in the first season, but she was so loveable. Okay, not at first, but I have a weakness for 'cool' characters, and I always felt that she wasn't trying to be mean. And I did watch far enough to find out a little about her past and how her parents left her all alone all the time. That really made me pathos, because she was an adult, and still cared about that. And this new rival, Mai Wong, looks like the obnoxious type. Sora, like the awesome genius she is, pulled off the show playing two parts, and who shows up but this new girl, dissing Sora, saying she wants to be the jackass Leon's co-star! Those two deserve each other as far as I'm concerned...I didn't believe Leon's reasoning for wanting to stay for a second though. It was kind of like the crew was really stretching to make things work. Oh well, I still want to watch the Kaleidostar episodes I missed!

I also watched all the trailers. All they caused was the desire in me to never see Maps and shittly live atcion show ADV turns out. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY ARE CALLING 'AHIRU' 'DUCK' (In Princess Tutu)!! Yes, Ahiru is literally Duck. I know, it's not really a name. HOWEVER, a name is a name. If I go to Japan, my name isn't going to magically turn into 'Yoshimi'. All I hope is that a Shonen Bat is pulled, and the subs say 'Ahiru', with just a quick little translator's note. I guess for the dub it's okay, because I really think my little sister would like that show, and they would be like 'Ahiru?'

After burning myself out yesterday, and having a really crappy day today, I just needed to chill. So, I watch Dr. Phil today. It's still 'Resolutions' week. Today was people who need free things to make them feel better. Or some shit like that. Today didn't really have a set theme. But Dr. Phil gave away a table, a trip to Universal Studios, new home equipment to a pack rat, board games and DVDs. I think Dr. Phil needed to show off the sponsors. Oh, but it was funny about the Pack rat lady, because while her own home looked like shit, she was a personal organizer. Yeah, apparently that's a job.

Maury was pretty fun today. At least it had a theme 'My daughter's 13 years old, and having sex with older men, and may be pregnant!' Ha, the girls were scary. How could they get like that, so young? At least the 13 year olds weren't pregnant, unlike another one I watched -_-;;. I thought this Maury was pretty interesting actually. The last two stories may have been actors, but the first one was real. It was a girl who had been corrupted by the media, and led herself into believing that if she understood the 'cruel ways of the world', then she could do whatever she wanted. Well, at least that's how I read into it. Y'know, she REALLY thought she understood the world, but we all knew she really didn't. Ah ha ha.

A new Will and Grace was on. I didn't expect the new ones to be on so early, but here there they were. It was pretty funny, like always I should say. Vince was working in a grocery store and Jack and Grace thought that he was having an affair with the Manager guy. The funniest was when the manager said to Vince 'I'll see you in aisle nine - " and Grace put her hand over her mouth in shock " - With a mop" and Jack was in shock. That was great, especially how Jack was looking for aisle nine after. Will and Karen's situation was also good. I also liked how Karen's rival guy kept messing up his name. His name was at first Frank Woolly, and he had an article called 'Always Woolly', when 'Always Frank' would've made more sense. I must happily report that, while Will and Grace has always been about a gay man, there has never been much 'gay action', if you will. It'll never be QAF heavy, but Will kissed Vince on the cheek. Finally, they're acting like a couple! I'm hoping for a Vince and Will situation next week, but who knows if it'll happen -_-;;.

So, I tried to watch Dr. Phil but he was going to help an alcoholic through the 'Power of Prayer', so I cut that shit.

After working hard most of the day, I stopped at 9:45 to watch something with my family. They were watching Nanny 911, so I saw the tail end of that. My mother likes it now, but I still think it's not 'addiction worthy' if you will, This episode was better than the last one because it was just the mother who had the problem, not the kids.

Six Feet Under was on, so I watched that. I clonked my head on the coffee table half way through though, so I couldn't thoroughly enjoy it. (My head still hurts today (6th), so it was sort of serious.) It didn't help that David was saying 'I Have a headache', because I was replying to the TV 'So do I! Shut the hell up!' Oh, I'm glad my family all decided to go to bed, ebucase there was a fair amount of male on male action. Not QAF heavy, just implied, but still lotsa kissing -_-;;. Oh, not that I minded. I just wish that David was sexy like Brian, Now THAT would've been good :D~. I thought David was 'slow' until this episode, where he shows some will.
I set up DDR Extreme here today. The shit mat I got for Christmas (this Christmas) slips on the carpet. Bad, since it's already broken a little (The left arrow has a weak response time). However, I still managed to get a AA on 'Kick The Can'. However, Standard Mode was hopeless, with the shitty mat, not that I can do Standard in the first place, so it made it even harder.

Jonothan from school read the novel Battle Royale last year. I let him borrow that novel from me, so it's only natural that he let me borrow Battle Royale manga. So, today I read Battle Royale Volume 1. I despised the style of drawing at first, since it was extremely over exaggerated to give away personality and in effect looked very ugly. Love wasn't warming up in the main character introductions, when they made Shinji into a slut. Shinji's only done it three times! He was talking about screwing six girls, but he only had four condoms, so he'll have to 'Improvise'. I think that 'Improvising' may have been Tokyopop's work, but whatever. It's still not the Shinji I know from the novel. And Sho, like OMG. I know he checks his makeup and shit in the novel, but he looks SO insanely stereotypically gay in this manga. Yeah, every gay guy I've ever met wears lipstick and alters their school uniform to look feminine, that's exactly it (rolls eyes). Look for Sho in the classroom. You'll see what I'm talking about. Right, but then we got to the classroom, and it was pretty good. This manga-ka has an eye for backgrounds, drama and violence. I was kinda confused when Shinji saved Shuuya, because it shows Shinji hopping three times in the same panel, and I thought it was three different people. However, I read the novel, so I don't really care. One thing I'm liking is the long flashbacks. They're very touching. I'm such a sap. I know there were flashbacks in the novel, but I don't remember them effecting me that much. Oh, and I'm lovin' the new twist of having it played out on TV! How is the novel ending gonna work? It can't! Maybe Shogo will bust up the camera or something. Who knows? So, I just want to read the last volume now, because I don't know if I have the patience to read another volume that is nowhere near the genius of the novel.

Being on a borrowed 'manga' streak, I read Demon Diary volume 7, the final one, borrowed from Nikki. I loved volume one, where it was irreverent and fun, but then the following volumes were all much too serious and plot heavy for the characters. Damn Lee Yun Hee for replacing Lee Chi Hyong (who is said in volume two to be only a middle schooler! O_O), Speaking of that, I was extremely delighted to see a small, black and white picture of Kera and Lee Yun Hee. I didn't know who was who, but I was still overly delighted. Back to the manwha, volume seven brought it back home to pointless land. That made me even more delighted. Looks like Lee Yun Hee got a talking to from Lee Chi Hyong! Ha ha, well, every time one of the characters would say 'Raenef, you want to see your friend Eclipse, right?', I would snicker aloud and say "Yeah, your (cough) "FRIEND"" Ah, I am 99.9% positive Lee Chi Hyong had it in mind to be a yaoi, or at least shonen ai, I am not kidding. He was a guy after all; of course he wanted a yaoi! And Kera usually does shonen ai, so it was only natural to assume... oh well, volume seven was outside of the main plot line, so I was very happy for the return to irreverent land. A fair ending, however one can only speculate how it would have turned out if Lee Chi Hyong had stayed on board the whole time...

The Biggest Loser was on. The guy I was cheering for, Maurice, got kicked out. He was the biggest of them all, weighing in at 420 pounds at the beginning. He only lost one pound this week though, so maybe htta's why they kicked him out...? I missed the after weigh-in, beucase my sister was watching Degrassi >_<. I missed his eviction too, but that was because I was watching The Amazing Race. However, in his update, he had only lost 20 pounds since the show. The other contestants lost more, so I think he slacked off. I guess that's what happens in real life ne? Surrounded by all that food...

The Amazing Race was good as usual. We need more gay teams again. Or even a single gay person, y'know? All these 'dating-skinny-straight-Caucasian-20-somethings' are really getting to me. So, naturally, I find myself cheering for any team that doesn't fall into this category. For example, the wrestlers and the father/daughter team (yes, all the rest are at least 4 or all 5 of the things mentioned above). Yaay! If there was a better team, I would probably find the wrestlers annoying. But now that Gus and Hera (the father/daughter team) got kicked out, there is no better team. And Jonathan and his wife REALLY need some counseling. Bad. Oh well, hopefully they won't win, and if they do, they'll be forced to forfeit because Jon's abusive.
"That's why women don't rule the world." Jonathan said. Um...no one rules the world... But, knowing what he means, if my lover said that to me, he have no balls and no lover >_<.

Dr. Phil is starting off a 'Resolutions Week'. My resolution should be to watch more anime so I don't bore people with my Viewing Journal! Well, today was people who couldn't keep their finances under control. There was this family who bought brand name clothing and other exterior possessions (vehicles, jewelry etc.), but they were very much in debt, had a bad house, and had their cable cut off because they had trouble paying the bills. Worse yet, the husband was DEFENDING his actions! He tried to explain to Dr. Phil that people cared what the brand on your clothing. He even insulted Dr. Phil by asking if he got his jacket at Wal Mart. Dr. Phil said he didn't care, and tried to show them that he was piss poor when he was starting out by showing he and Robin's clunker cars. Ha, the husband didn't care. Next up were an interracial couple, a Caucasian woman and an Asian man. I'm saying that because I hope that's me someday, except not married... ^_^;; I'm being silly, so moving on...they had a nice house, but had to sell their kids clothes on Ebay. Their kids go to private school, so I think they have lots of money and no where to spend it.

Because I couldn't resist, Fox was showing Who's Your Daddy. Oh, what an hour and a half it was. It was pretty fucking stupid. Shit, what the hell was I thinking? It was pretty boring, but once I started, I had to find out who her Daddy was. Fox made a pretty big deal of saying 'They are happy to play the game. Very happy'. My brother picked the 'runner-up' if you will, right from the beginning. The woman, TJ, picked correctly. Seemed kind of fixed. It was very nice to see TJ reunited with her birth father, birth mother and half sisters. You could tell there was real emotion going on, especially when TJ met her birth mother. Now, only if Fox would put their billions of dollars towards doing this for NOT a reality TV show...nah, that'll never happen.

I watched Ebert and Roeper's top ten movies of the year. Ebert picked Million Dollar Baby, and Roeper picked Hotel Rwanda. I didn't really like the order of Roeper's choices because they were all SO mainstream. But then Ebert put Spider-man 2 on his list, and that movie was...well, certainly not any top list material, and extremely mainstream. And they both put Kill Bill 2 on their list, better taste (in this case) Ebert put in as his #2. What I really wanted was the worst films of the year though. I love it when they bitch ^o^

I've decided I'm gonna put in whatever manga I read and games I play. On that note, I read Tactics Volume 1 that I got from my Mom for Christmas. It was pretty clever and cute. I liked how every situation seemed to be only for the protagonist benefit, then at the climax it would be revealed he had other intentions working to the benefit of someone else, but then at the end, he would have another purpose that was for his own benefit. This is the second ADV manga title I've got, and the translations are really awkward. ADV Manga left a terrible impression on me with their 'localization' (read - bastardization) of Azumanga Daioh, Just because of that, I got my Mom to buy Tactics for me. I'm glad, because the translations are still piss poor. From the 'Goblins' and 'Demons' to the 'It's in Japanese in the original text, but let's put it in Latin because it will make it mysterious!' it was all pretty crappy. I have a STRONG FEELING that Goblin and Demon are not effectively portraying the effects of the original terms, whatever they may be. A word to ADV - If you're going to bastardize, take out the original Japanese text before you do. Second Year Japanese students like myself are bound to catch on to all the changes. For example, ADV left in whopping amounts of spoken text (not just SFX, which I have no problem with), and just put the English beside it. Apparently they were too lazy to edit it. Anyway, thanks to that, I now know that that Goblin was originally 'Tengu', so if anyone knows what that really means...maybe I'll look over some scanlations I have from BEFORE Tactics got licensed...

Finally, I watched the first half of The Simpsons. and the last five minutes of Arrested Development. I took a shower in between them. I wish I didn’t sit there and watch the Simpsons, because it was one I'd already seen (where Marge writes a novel), and Arrested Development was new to me. Buster's in the army. Even though Michael Moore asked them to enlist, I didn't think Buster would seriously go. Pretty cool. I love that show. It's very funny.

So, the first thing I watched in the new year was the comedy half of The Conan O'Brian Show. I always like how they do the sitting around the bar thing and reminisce. Triumph had a big year, bigger than I thought he would ever have. A DVD and a CD...I should download it! Ha, I would pay max of $10 for one of his CD/DVDs. Oh, and the notable highlight of the night was Toshi the boy toy. He was certainly an attractive older gentleman. Oh, and Oprah and what's-his-face kissing...quite amusing. Conan has the best writing staff. The best Late Night Talk show by far...well, as far as I'm concerned ^^;;

I also watched a Chihiro Onitsuka PV - Rollin'. It was 350MB DVD Rip VOB that lasted for five minutes, and didn't cut off like some other VOBs I've gotten before. It REALLY hurts when something's wrong with a VOB, because they're so big and takes awhile even on hi-speed connections >_<. But, the PV itself was...well, it was just Onitsuka-san singing the song with a backup band. I mean, you could tell it wasn't a live because it was shot in an interesting style...but I don't know if I would recommend anyone else downloading it. I mean, I knew I liked the song, so of course I hopped on it. For Onitsuka fans only I suppose. That makes the third Onitsuka PV I've seen. (First two being 'Infection' TV Rip that paused around the minute mark, and 'We Can Go' DVD Rip.) The PVs are nice for her style of songs.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite. Oh, where to start! Okay, there has to be worse movies than this. There HAS to be. This movie wasn't a COMPLETE train-wreck, but it was SO damn close. Just SO close. Now, I never really had burning desire to see Napoleon Dynamite. Then my friend Jennifer, who has a really good taste in movies, said she wanted to see it, so I figured it wouldn't be that bad. And the ads looked interesting/different. I think that's how it started. Then, my sister showed me 'funny' clips from the movie. I figured that the humor must play out longer than that, so the 'punch line' would be delivered. And that's where the problems start. There is no punch line or appropriate place to laugh even. The humor isn't funny. I didn't even know if it was SUPPOSED to be funny. Maybe it was a comedy without comedy intended? Or maybe an honest portrayal of a boy who was...slow... And therein lies the second problem. I hated Napoleon. Now, hating the main character works in some shows/movies (see Gantz for an excellent example), but in a comedy...it's better to like them. Really, I don't want to laugh down at people. I want to laugh at them, like in School Rumble (Tenma is so dumb, and we love her). Laughing at people is as low as I go, not laughing down at them. Thirdly, the side characters were all extremely dull. Shit, if you're going to make a movie about real life intrigue, how about some intrigue? And really, who wants to see a movie about a hillbilly anyway? I see enough of them everyday. Maybe lucky urbanites liked it because they were astounded to see what it's really like out here.

Now, this is kind of good and bad, but is when the credits started rolling, I was astounded to find only and hour and a half had passed. Shit, It felt like a good two and a half hours of my life had been wasted. Thank goddess they weren't, or I'd be bitching harder! Now the good things... um...La Fonda wasn't completely boring. Gave some needed spice to the hillbillies. And the dance at the end was one of the rare funny moments. But even that lasted too long. The relationships between the characters were pretty realistic. Boring, but realistic. Now, advice - if you think the clips on the site are funny, you'll love this movie. If you don't, run away. Far away. You'll be bored out of your skull.

I then watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Now THAT was a comedy. Holy shit, It was so funny! 'Cheech and Chong' for the new generation is fucking right! Now, I don't like Cheech and Chong, but Harold and Kumar rule. This movie was just so hilarious! It got kinda cheese filled towards the end, but what teen movie doesn't? C'mon. There's lots of mention of racial stereotypes, but...well, it's not really in a negative way. Kinda is, like when those 'cool' guys make fun of them, but then when Harold goes to Princeton and goes to the Asian party, at first it seems really derogatory towards Asians by saying they're all dorky. But then they're having a wild party with more pot than Harold and Kumar. And those two get the 'cool' guys back, so it all works out in favour of the 'minorities'. I was cheering for these two all the way to White Castle. Seriously. Not to mention John Cho's a cutie ^_~. Plus, a bonus - gay humor. Now, this has officially become the best teen movie ever. I should go look for some Harold X Kumar fanfics (laugh). I'm sure they exist.

I'm...so alone today. My horoscope said it would be a good day. I would be in high demand, love intrest would be pounding at my door...why am I so alone then? I'm sure once I got to sleep, I'll be happy, but sometimes the loneliness gets to you...y'know what I mean. I have no close friends that I can really open up to. Not a single person. Ever since that time, no one. Oh, I put a nice happy song in my Winamp que so I would cheer up. Ask DNA. Its kinda working, but..y'know once it ends, who knows?

And it didn't help that Danielle made this thing..the awards for all the people in her group. And I hang out with most of those people. But do I get an award? No. I felt very discriminated against. But what can you do? Just lets it slide. I'll never talk to thes people again after High School...which makes me wonder, who will I talk to? I'm not an idiot. I know you have to interact with people. I always imagined I'd have this cool crowd at a bar, but now I think that cool crowd won't let me in.

Oh, I wanted to write a big entry 'bout anime north, and it was fun and everything, but next year, I want to go with someone. Not Ga-chan. She would be all...taking the spotlight away from me. I love her like a sister, but she...doesn't really let me talk. Not that I say much, but she always thinks she's right. Or, I would love to go alone again, but be social! I mean, I passed by a guy holding a sign that said 'will preform yaoi for fun OR profit!' WTF was I thinking! That was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Garrrh!

Hmm, you know what? I think I have to take some serious steps this summer to get my life back on track. I mean, my social life. I don't want to have any life partners, ever, but I want close friends I can open up too. I will start. How many times have i said THAT before?...sigh, loneliness

Oh, today at the hypnotist, David left. I think it wa sbecause he thought hypnotism was the Devils' work.
